Moves Like Jagger

Is Adam Levine a Pisces? You bet!

Adam Levine, the lead singer of the American band Maroon 5 is often thought of as natural showman but he considers himself not an extrovert. He was, he says, "terribly shy as a young child", growing up in California. This shy Pisces man came a long way - from being a "nerdy" musician in high school - to his success as the front man and a guitarist for Maroon 5. He is also one of the coaches on NBC's singing competition show "The Voice" alongside Blake Shelton, Christina Aguilera and Cee Lo Green and recently he posed naked for cancer awareness. His hit summer single Moves Like Jagger features Adam Levine (Pisces), Christina Aguilera (Sagittarius) and of course the one and only Mick Jagger (Leo). Although it is very difficult to imitate the greatness of Mick Jagger I have to admit that Adam Levine, Christina Aquilera and Jagger impersonators and enthusiasts do a pretty amazing job.

Jupiter Venus and the Crescent Moon

Happy Stargazing!

As I was leaving my friend's house this evening I looked towards the west and saw a beautiful celestial grouping - the crescent moon, Jupiter and Venus. As we move into the next month, the Moon will depart but we will still be able to see Venus and Jupiter and see them become twin "stars" by mid March. Happy stargazing! Feel free to share pictures. I don't have any of my own, but I "borrowed" a photo to show you what to look for.

New Moon In Pisces 2012

New Moon in Pisces on February 21, 2012. It will be conjunct Neptune and Chiron. Time to put our dreams into manifestation and send them to the Universe. Take time to meditate (any kind of meditation will do), write down your dreams or wishes, release it and for the next couple of weeks forget about it. Don't forget to have a pleasant evening, have a glass of wine or take a bath. New Moon gives us a reason to retrospect, relax and celebrate.

Moon in Aquarius

Sun, Mercury, Neptune and Chiron in Pisces! Moon is in Aquarius today, gearing up for the New Moon on the 21st. During Aquarius Moon we may feel more open and free. We try new things. We splurge and don't feel guilty about it. Good time for new beginnings, reforms, for starting over.

Aquarius is no stranger to charities

Justin Timberlake was born on January 31, 1981 in Tennessee, USA. He started his career in the late 1990s as the lead singer of 'N Sync. In 2002 he released his solo album Justified which included a hit Cry Me a River. Timberlake has won six Grammy Awards and four Emmy Awards. Justin Timberlake reinvented his music and acting style several times, always offering something new to his audience - his second solo album FutureSex/LoveSounds had the bigges album pre-orders on iTUnes. We can't deny his Aquarian Sun that shines through his philantrophic causes. As an avid golfer who plays a 6 handicap, he purchased the run-down Big Creek Golf Course in his home town of Millington, Tennessee which he later redeveloped to be eco-friendly golf course. Timberlake received the Futures Award at the Environmental Media Awards for his green-conscious golf course. Timberlake became the host of the Las Vegas tournament. The tournament's name was changed to the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open. He played in the celebrity pro-am and it was a success. Timberlake's contribution to Shriners Hospitals for Children was the single most valuable celebrity endorsement in the US during 2009. This year's Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open will take place on Thursday Oct 4 – Sunday Oct 7, 2012.

With this I have also touched on another topic of my astrology updates - golf. But I can't forget mentioning Jack Nicklaus - "The Golden Bear" who has excelled not only in golf but also in golf course design. He also wrote instructional and autobiographical books. And last but not least his charitable contributions to children's charities.

Ellen and Oprah share their Sun sign

2012 is supposed to be about transformation, sudden changes, time flying by faster. This does not prove to be true for me. We are now, as we speak, in Pisces and I have not written anything more on Aquarius other than the basics. So here we go my dear Aquarian friends. Yours is the sign of transformation and deep humanitarian spirit. Yours is the nature of rebellion and revolution. You see beyond the unseen and are often ahead of the game when it comes to being compassionate and philanthropic. When I think of an Aquarian friend there are two women from the media that come to my mind. Oprah Winfrey has her Sun, Mercury and Venus in Aquarius. Ellen Degeneres has her Sun and Venus in Aquarius. Aquarian friend is there for you but they are there for your other friends too. They give you advice, they are generous, they make you laugh but they seem a bit distant at the same time. Comparing Ellen and Oprah to your girlfriends may seem silly (yes, I know I am speaking to women now) but your real life Aquarian friend is just the same. You feel somehow that they are not quite "there" for you, they don't feel sorry for you or pamper you as you may need at time. They humanitarian and giving nature shines through no matter what and you keep coming back for more advice and support, they make you laugh. They tell you things objectively. No matter what they say you tend to accept this. I think it is great that so many women and men got to "meet" Ellen and Oprah through their shows. It is like having a friend right there in your living room. She is there, you laugh, you cry and then she is gone just to return when you her. The next show. Aquarius always looks towards the future.

The Giants Won

Astrologers love to talk about the astrology of the past. When it comes to sports it is a "totally different ball game." Just how many individual charts would we have to look at, team charts, place charts, time charts...After all that work would it be really worth it? We can always learn something new from each different chart and that knowledge can be then applied to whatever we need it for. It is all about learning. Astrologers are constantly doing that - they are learning from each and every new chart.

The New England Patriots were born on November 16, 1959, making them a Scorpio. The New York Giants birthday is on October 4, 1925, so they are a Libra. It was a close game. Giants won. We know it now and we did not have to do all that work of calculating charts and such. Some things are better to be left alone, so they can emerge on their own. That same thing applies to astrology. We can only know so much. And then we take this knowledge to take it to our own hands. Our birth charts and our predictive astrology serves us only as a tool to better know ourselves and perhaps give us a glimpse of what is in store for us. It doesn't give us a straight answer. It does not solve our problems for us. It functions like a mirror and a compass in one. Knowledge and direction.

Congratulation Giants! Thank you Patriots for a great game!

Aquarius

On January 20, 2012 – the Sun moved into the sign of Aquarius. As one of my favorite astrologers Roy Alexander once said - "Sagittarius is about enjoying oneself within the system. Capricorn is about using the system as a personal power base. In contrast, Aquarius is concerned with improving the system, perhaps even destroying it if it has become too rigid." - this proves to be true since Aquarius is the innovator of the zodiac. He/she is also a social worker, philanthropist and a humanitarian all in one.

Aquarius - the Water Bearer is the eleventh sign of the Zodiac and it rules the eleventh House. The eleventh House represents friendships, connections, organizations, gifts and hopes. It is an air sign and a fixed sign. Air represents thinking and an analytical mind and a fixed sign just means that it is a sign that is "within" the season (winter in this case). Fixed signs have often strong opinions and firm dislikes.

Aquarius - independent, assertive, progressive, unattached, analytical and inventive - the one who refuses to follow the crowds and likes to be different. To some they appear as eccentric. Aquarians like and want to believe that everyone is equal. They are socially conscious, liberal, great friends yet detached. They tend to have lots of acquaintances but few close friends. They enjoy being with people and are also content to be alone. They enjoy travelling but are also happy at home.

Aquarius is ruled by the planet Uranus. This is a planet of change and innovation, one that brings rapid and sudden changes. Well that is what it is all about. Moving forward and "rocking the boat" is the soul food of people born under this sign.

Happy Birthday to all my Aquarius friends.

Sun in Aquarius, Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in Taurus

he Sun is in Aquarius. Venus in Gemini and Jupiter in Taurus are visible in the evening at sunset (give and take since we are in the Pacific Northwest). For most of February Mars will rise just after sunset. Mercury will be visible in the evening sky from mid February. Saturn will rise at midnight at the beginning of February. If you are an early riser you will see Mars and Saturn. Mars will be above the southwest horizon and Saturn will rise in the east around midnight in early February. Saturn isn't the most exciting planet to watch, it isn't as exciting as Mars or as glamorous as Venus. No wonder it has been called "the oldest of the old sheep" by stargazers. At late night on February 11th you will see Saturn just slightly left of the waning gibbous Moon on the east. Happy stargazing!
